What is Tariff Code
A tariff code is a product-specific code as documented in the Harmonized System (HS) maintained by the World Customs Organization (WCO.) Tariff codes exist for almost every product involved in global commerce. Required on official shipping documents for tax assessment purposes, a tariff code ensures uniformity of product classification worldwide.
How to create Tariff Code in ABSS
To create Tariff code, kindly go to list > Tariff Code > New > enter your tariff code.
If you have more than one Tariff code, kindly create it separately. (Example as below)
After you created Tariff code, you need to create SST Tax Code for every tariff code (only if you are using service layout)
Go to List > Tax code > New
Create HS1 tax code for Tariff code. Description enter your Tariff code Number (Example as below)
Tax type link to “sales & services tax” > rate is 6%. SST code is SV06.
Kindly be informed if you have more than 1 tariff code that you need to record under service layout, so you need to create another HS tax code. (Example HS2,HS3…)
Next, record your sales transaction with HS1 tax code. (As below)
P/S: Service tax is cash basis. It only will effect once you received a payment. So, after you received payment from customer, you need to record as below:
Kindly be informed only when you record the transaction using item layout, the tariff code will appear in SST 02 report. If you record using service layout, so we need to enter amount manually in SST 02 report.
After payment was recorded, kindly generate Tax (Detail – Cash) report.
To generate this report, kindly go to report > index to report > GST/Sales tax > Tax (Detail – Cash).
Report Customization window will appear. Select specific tax code (HS1) and specific period and click on display.
All of the transaction using HS1 (after payment made) will appear as below:
Lastly, you need to enter tax collected figure manually to SST 02 Report.
