Introduction There would be a time where you need to move your ABSS AccountEdge into a different machine. This support note will guide you on how to do this. |
Moving AccountEdge to New Machine
- Create a backup of your company file(s).
- Deactivate the AccountEdge registration on this machine (Select AccountEdge NE > Registration; Click Deactivate).
- Exit AccountEdge NE.
- Copy the backup you created to the new machine.
- Install AccountEdge Network Edition on the new machine.
- On the new machine, select System Preferences by clicking on the little apple in the upper, left- hand corner of the screen.
- In the last row of System Preferences, click the AccountEdge icon.
- Start File Connect
- Close this window, and exit System Preferences.
- Launch AccountEdge.
- Register AccountEdge (Select AccountEdge > Registration; Fill in information and Register).
- Restore your data from the backup file. Select the correct server (host).
- The database must be put at
- Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/AccountEdge NE/Databases.
- At the end of the operation, the log in window for your restored file will be displayed.
- Log into your company file.
