Moving AccountEdge to New Machine

This Support note is suitable for:

• ABSS AccountEdge Network Edition

Introduction

There would be a time where you need to move your ABSS AccountEdge into a different machine. This support note will guide you on how to do this.

Moving AccountEdge to New Machine

1. Create a backup of your company file(s).
2. Deactivate the AccountEdge registration on this machine (Select AccountEdge NE > Registration; Click Deactivate).
3. Exit AccountEdge NE.
4. Copy the backup you created to the new machine.
5. Install AccountEdge Network Edition on the new machine.
6. On the new machine, select System Preferences by clicking on the little apple in the upper, left- hand corner of the screen.

7. In the last row of System Preferences, click the AccountEdge icon.

8. Start File Connect
   
   • 
9. Close this window, and exit System Preferences.
10. Launch AccountEdge.
11. Register AccountEdge (Select AccountEdge > Registration; Fill in information and Register).
12. Restore your data from the backup file. Select the correct server (host).
13. The database must be put at
    • Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/AccountEdge NE/Databases.
14. At the end of the operation, the log in window for your restored file will be displayed.
15. Log into your company file.
